An Aboriginal-themed Video Game about Heroic Adventure & the Dreamtime Stories
MIRRABOOKA: DREAMTIME is an under-development third person adventure game. The game’s story revolves around the Aboriginal boy Mirrabooka (namesake: the constellation of the Southern Cross) who starts a bold quest to save his love interest Alinta. During the adventure, Mirrabooka encounters beings from the Dreamtime stories, and their interactions will prove not only fateful to the young man’s mission but enlightening to his perception of the "Country". Let’s follow Mirrabooka’s trek to explore the world of Aboriginal Australia and the Dreamtime.
From a developmental perspective, the game aims to combine the thrills of adventure in the Australian bushlands, where a myriad of unique creatures await Mirrabooka’s exploration, with the mythological bonanza that is Australia’s Aboriginal Dreamtime stories as well as enduring traditions and culture like Aboriginal symbols and Aboriginal art. These are the lived and living experiences from the longest continuous civilization on the planet, which dates back to over 65,000 years ago.
